Richard C. Troutman Award – AAO 2019
The Richard C. Troutman Award recognizes the scientific merit of a young ophthalmologist, in order to reward the best publication made each year in the Journal of Refractive Surgery (JRS), the most prestigious Journal of the specialty.
During the 2019 American Academy of Ophthalmology – AAO, held in San Francisco, California, the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS) awarded the young Brazilian doctor, Dr. Carla S. Medeiros Conti for her work “The impact o Photorefractive surgery and mytomicin C on corneal nerves ”. The work was carried out during the Ophthalmologist’s fellow in Refractive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in partnership with the USP School of Medicine, where she obtained her PhD in Medical Sciences.

The performance of USP Ophthalmology at the 27th International Congress of Oculoplastic – SBCOP 2019, in Goiânia, obtained 3 award-winning works, presented by members of our Department of Ophthalmology HCFMUSP.
