NOTICE

The Coordinating Committee of the Graduate Program in Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo announces that it will open applications for the selection of candidates for 20 (twenty) doctoral vacancies in the Area of ​​Ophthalmology, as detailed below:

I. REGISTRATION
Entries must be made in the program secretariat, at Av. Dr. Eneas Carvalho de Aguiar, 255 – 6th floor – Sala da Biblioteca da Oftalmologia from February 10 to December 1, 2020, on weekdays, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

II. CONDITIONS FOR EFFECTIVE REGISTRATION
1. Postgraduate Student Registration Form (www.fm.usp.br – postgraduate school – stricto sensu – registration)
2. Readable copy of the General Registry (identity card); for foreigners: readable copy of the National Registry of Foreigners (RNE)
3. Readable copy of Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF)
4. 2 recent photos 3 X 4
5. Readable copy of the Graduation Diploma, with MEC registration (front and back). In the absence of a diploma, submit a declaration from the institution of origin, with a recent date, stating the date on which the degree was awarded.
6. Result of Proficiency in English (valid for 5 years) for Doctorate and Direct Doctorate; Foreign students must present the intermediate level certificate in the Portuguese proficiency test, carried out by CELPE-BRAS, up to 24 months from the beginning of the student’s course. Note: The following English proficiency tests will be accepted: Reading Test in English for Candidates for Postgraduate Courses, conducted by Cultura Inglesa, Pinheiros branch, exclusively for the Faculty of Medicine of USP. Minimum score for master’s course: 50 points; for doctoral course: 60 points; Toefl internet-based Test, with a minimum score of 40 points for the Master’s course and 61 points for the Doctorate course; Toefl Computer-based Test, with a minimum score of 120 points for the Master’s course and 173 points for the Doctorate course; Toefl Paper-based Test, with a minimum score of 433 points for the Master’s course and 500 points for the Doctorate course; Institutional Toefl is not accepted. Evaluation carried out by a committee chaired by a full advisor of the Program and by 2 (two) other persons appointed by the CCP with a minimum score: 7
7. Proof of payment of registration fee in the amount of R $ 214.00 (two hundred and fourteen reais).

III. SELECTION

II.1 SELECTION REQUIREMENTS AND CRITERIA FOR THE DOCTORATE

– Research Project prepared by the candidate (three copies)
– Submission of the research project to the committee responsible for analyzing ethical issues in research
– Proof of Completion of the Master’s Degree stricto sensu with school history.

Candidates will be evaluated, on an eliminatory basis, by their Research Project (weight 4), Oral Argument (weight 2), analysis of the Curriculum Lattes (weight 2) and the academic record of the Master (weight 2).
The evaluation will be done according to the items contained in the Evaluation Form available on the Program’s website. Candidates who obtain a score greater than or equal to 7.0 (seven) may be accepted into the program, subject to advisor availability.

The results of the selection process will be published on the Program’s website.

II.2 SELECTION REQUIREMENTS AND CRITERIA FOR THE DIRECT DOCTORATE

– Research Project prepared by the candidate (three copies)
– Detailed report justifying the option for the scientific and statistical analysis methods adopted in the Research Project, demonstrating basic knowledge in scientific methodology.
– Submission of the research project to the committee responsible for analyzing ethical issues in research.

Candidates will be evaluated, on an eliminatory basis, by their Research Project (weight 4), Oral Argument with support of the detailed report with demonstration of basic knowledge of scientific methodology (weight 3) and by the analysis of the Curriculum Lattes emphasizing their previous academic experience ( weight 3).

The evaluation will be done according to the items contained in the Evaluation Form available on the Program’s website. Candidates who obtain a score greater than or equal to 7.0 (seven) may be accepted into the Program, subject to advisor availability.

IV. RESULTS

The result of the selection process will be published on the program’s website (www.pgoftalmologiausp.com.br – postgraduate school – strict sense – program – notice – selection result).

V. ENROLLMENT

The enrollment of selected candidates must be carried out at the same place of registration, Av. Dr. Enéas Carvalho de Aguiar, 255 – 6th floor Sala da Biblioteca da Oftalmologia
• Compliance with Article 53 of the USP Postgraduate Regulations is mandatory upon initial enrollment.
